How we build
Rules we hold ourselves to
Money software should be checkable. These rules shape the code, not just the copy.
- Read-onlyBenjamin connects to banks through Plaid with read-only access. It never moves money and never applies for a card.
- Code does the mathEvery number and ranking comes from rules and tested code. A language model explains results and answers questions; it does not compute the numbers or order the cards.
- Rankings ignore referral feesThe ranking code has no access to referral or partner-revenue data.
- Estimates are labeledEvery estimate is labeled as one, and when data is missing or stale, Benjamin says what is missing next to the result.
- No sale of personal informationWe do not sell personal information. You can delete your account in the app or by email; the Benjamin privacy policy explains what is kept.
